I downloaded the EO.Web Controls 2007.1 and am using it to create a simple menu.
The Web page displays a dialog that a license is required. Since I'm using the Free control I didn't I needed a license nor could I find one on download.
Can you assist me on this?
Thanks!
Dan

Hi NewBold,
Our controls are not completely free. The full featured version does require a license. If you see the license message, then you have used one of the non-free features.
Thanks

Ahhh... OK!
Since the menu control I was using is being advertised as FREE, I simply assumed it would be.
Silly me.
On to another approach!
Best of luck!

The whole package does contain a lot of features that is completely free as advertised:
1. The progress bar control is completely free; 2. The menu control has two free templates; 3. The slide menu control has two free templates; 4. The tab strip control has one free template; 5. The tree view control has one free template;
That does not mean everything in the package is free, nor do we advertise it such. To help you better understand what are free features, we actually have added a "Free License" tab into almost all our designers to explain them in greater detail.

As I have already conveyed to you. I was using one of the free menu templates (2. The menu control has two free templates;), Yet it prompts me for a license and provides a link to your "BUY" page to where you can't navigate away from.
Yes you do advertise it as free.... I wouldn't go there if I were you. Just get your act together. I've wasted enough with this crap product.

Let's play nice here. Many users have been use the free templates and it works great for them. If you wish to "start" from the free template and then modify it to a totally different one, then I am sorry, that's not really what we promised you.
You wished our product as a completely free product and you got mad after I told you it is not. You like free product but it's simply not possible for us to hand out everything we have to you without asking anything back. Neither the relationship nor the business would work just by you getting everything you wanted and we get nothing. If you believe it can work, you are more than welcome to develop a completely free product to compete with us. Don't just get mad because you don't have the ability to do so.
With the comercial grade quality, extensive feature set and best support in the industry we have, our components well worth the price. Many customers are very happy with our product and service. If you believe you can get the same elsewhere without paying anything, you are welcome to go there.

Thanks Dr. Phil, But I'm not mad. I simply can't believe that you are unable comprehend what I am saying. I attempted to use the, FREE as advertised, menu control. I applied to to my page. I was told I had to purchase a license. You seem to think that I believe the entire package is FREE. This has never been the case. Me? I'm not mad... Just a little frustrated at your ignorance and smart as* responses to a question that could have been answered 7 postings ago. As far as developing a tool, I dont have too. I'm finding many out there that perform even better at a low cost www.infragistics.com for example. So, thanks for driving my business away. If you had the competence to really asssit me I may have purched your entire tool for our company. But you blew it! Oh, and I be sure to share this terrible experience with all.

Yes. We blew you away because:
1. You did not explicitly mention nor explain which template or feature you were using; 2. You did nothing more than requesting we give you the product for free; 3. You made no attempt to clarify things;
If you have done any of them, the issue would have been solved 7 post ago. The free template is very simple: you choose a free template and start to create a few simple menu items. That should not give you license message. Anything you do to try to circumvent the restrictions will get the license message.
I do not believe anybody is trying to be intentionally bad here, but it seems you are the one that first getting irritated after we told you the product is not complete free. We believe we have the right to choose the customers we want to serve and rude customers are definitely not welcomed here, regardless whether you want to buy or not.
We do not comment on competitor's product. But you are more than welcome to compare Infragistics' product with ours and spend a few more times than you would have with us.

From my first posting....
"I downloaded the EO.Web Controls 2007.1 and am using it to create a simple menu.

1. "using it to create a simple menu" 2. "Since I'm using the Free control I didn't I needed a license nor could I find one on download" 3. No inference that I think the product is free. 4. You chose to ignore my issue only to tell me that there are some features cost money. Like I wasn't aware of that? Notice the use of the word CONTROL and not PRODUCT. 5. I wasn't aware that I needed to provide a flow chart to explain this.
This is a laugher now.... Just the BS coming... It's just more entertainment for my postings on other forums!

You can laugh all the way you want. But I believe people will see post #1, they will also see post #2, #3 and on.
Feel free to post your experience wherever you want. Just make sure you post a link to this thread so that people can see the whole story.

This is what other customers say about our support: http://www.essentialobjects.com/Forum/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=83http://www.essentialobjects.com/Forum/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=40The sumary of the your story is: 1. You wanted to get the product for free; 2. You got mad when you could not get it; 3. You try to do damage to people who don't give you what you demanded;
