Note: You do NOT need to run the installer on the production server. You only need
to run the installer on the development machine. To deploy the control, you only
need to copy EO.Web.dll into the web application's bin folder. If you use a license
file, you will need to put the license file into the bin folder as well. See
License & Deploy for details.
EO.Web Controls setup program installs and configures the EO.Web Controls components,
samples and documentation.
Run installation
Installation program runs the following tasks on your computer:
- Creates a folder and copies all documents including EO.Web.Dll file into
the folder. Default destination folder is C:\Program Files\Essential Objects\EO.Web
Controls (xxxx)\, where "xxxx" is the product version;
- Installation automatically installs all EO.Web Controls into Visual Studio or Visual
Web Developer's toolbox if you have them installed;
Visual Studio integration
Note: EO.Web Controls do not require Visual Studio to be installed. Control Builders
can run as an independent application and load, create, configure, preview and save
EO.Web controls.
If you have Visual Studio installed, EO.Web Controls installation will automatically
add all EO.Web controls into the toolbox. In case you need to add them manually,
follow these steps:
- In Visual Studio/Visual Web Developer, open or create an ASP.NET Web application;
- Open or add an ASP.NET Web page or user control for editing in design view;
- From the View menu, choose Toolbox;
- Select the tab where you want to add EO.Web controls to or create a new tab by right
clicking in a blank area of the toolbox and click Add Tab, then
type a name for the new tab;
- On the Tools menu, choose Add/Remove Toolbox Items (or Choose Items).
The Customize Toolbox dialog box opens;
- Click Browse to open the browse dialog, locate EO.Web.dll and click
Open. All EO.Web controls are added to the list;
- Click OK, the controls appear in the EO.Web Controls tab of the
toolbox as shown blow:
