License key for an old version does not work with new versions ---- every major version requires different license keys.

Most orders include a one year free upgrade period. Within the free upgrade period, you can get license keys for the new version of your existing controls for free.

In order to receive the new license key, please log into your account, then click "My Orders" page. Find the related order and then and click "View License Keys", you will see different links for different versions. If you do not see a link for the new version, then your free upgrade period has expired. Otherwise click the link for the new version to download the key.

Note the new keys will only cover new version of your existing controls, not new controls. In order to use new controls, you will need to place an upgrade order. We offer deep discount on upgrade, which is provided in the form of an upgrade coupon. You can contact us to acquire the upgrade coupon, then place a new order and entering the coupon code during checkout to apply the discount.

You will need to click "My Orders" first. If you do not see any orders there, you need to click "Link Order" to link your order to your account.

Once you see your order(s), you will see a "License Key" column. Click "View" on that column to see your license keys.

So let me see if I have this straight:

My license, after the free upgrade, is for 2007.1. I do not have the 2007.1 archive, so I'm installing 2007.2.

Now, as I understand it, the license key will work, but only for the components that I was licensed for in the previous version.

Have I got this right? Or, do I need to locate the 2007.1 archive and install it?

Hi,

Not exactly. First of all, you will need a different license key/file for every major version. So your existing key for 2007.1 will definitely not work for 2007.2.

The way that free upgrade works is, once you have an order, you will be able to get a new license file/key for every new version released within one year of your purchase. So whenever you use the new version, you need to get a new license file/key first.

Free upgrade covers 1 year only. So once the one year free upgrade period expires, you will no longer be able to get license file/keys for the further new versions. So for example, if you purchased 2.x, then you were able to upgrade for free to 3.1, then again 2007.1, but may not be able to upgrade to 2007.2 for free since at the time 2007.2 is released, your 1 year free upgrade period has already expired.

And yes, free upgrade is only for the components that you were licensed for the original version.

Hope this clears up.

Thanks
Charles

Not quite clear, I'm afraid.

I need some help here - I'm losing ground :-)

I have a license for 2007.1, but do not have the software to install, I lost it in a disk crash with no backup.

I have paid for the software, but do not have any idea how I may use it, unless I buy an upgrade that I cannot afford right now.

Is there somewhere I can download an older ( 2007.1 ) version of the software? If not, what on Earth can I do here?
