I have VS2017 pro ver 15.7.1

I'm trying EO web for the first time. I get this error:

-=-=

unable to initialize external designer module please check the installation and verify that EO.Web.dll in your bin folder is the same as the installed one

-=-=-

There couldn't be a different version on my system, I just downloaded and installed it for the first time. Looking through the forums, I don't see much of a way I have a pre asp.net 2.0 on a freshly installed system in 2018.

Any way to get this to work in the latest VS?

Thanks,

Hi,

Did you downloaded it from our download page or from nuget?

Thanks!

Straight from your page. I followed the instructions. Closed VS 2017, did the install. Opened back up and it showed right up, just with the error above. Poked around on the forums and found instructions to fix it, but they did not help me. This is a new laptop. There have never been any previous versions of VS or EO on it.

Thanks.

Hi,

Can you try run Visual Studio as administrator and then open our sample project and see if it works?

Thanks!

Demo seemed to work. This is all on me, but I registered in 2013 and then never used it. I had to uninstall 2018 and install 2016 for my license to work. Way back then I was going to do a big project and I never did. Now I'm getting back into it. Everything with the 2016 version seems to work. Got one error and figured out how to fix it from your forum.

Thanks.
