1. Product Version : EO.WebBrowser.dll ver 3.0.95.0

2. Error Message : This WebView has already been destoryed.

When setting html file to the WebView.Url property while loading the screen, "This WebView has already been destoryed." Errors occasionally occur.

Please let me know what the solution is.

Hi,

This means the WebView has been closed when you trying to load a Url. This can be caused by a crash in the browser engine, or you have explicitly closed it in code. The later is a code error on your end and you would need to change your code in that case. The former (more likely) can be caused by many different reasons. You can try to use the latest build and see if that resolves the issue for you, if that doesn't, please try to isolate the problem into a test project and send the test project to us:

https://www.essentialobjects.com/forum/test_project.aspx

We will investigate further as soon as we have that.

Thanks!

I downloaded the EO.Total 2016 version. No error occurs.
But my license key does not apply to EO.Total 2016 version.
What should I do?

Hi,

In that case you can renew your subscription in order to use the current version. There are a number of improvements in the new version. The most important improvements is the new version uses a much newer Chromium engine (your version uses V33, the current version uses V49). Also the current version supports Windows 10.

The renewing price is only 30% of the full price. You can go to your account, then go to "My Orders" page, then click "Renew" under the "Subscription Status" column to start the renew order. Once you complete the order, you will be able to download a license key for the current version. The renew will cover all new builds till mid year next year, so once the 2017 version is out (will be based on Chromium V54), you will be able to use that version as well.

Thanks!

Hi, THank you for your reply.

Currently we donot have enough budget for purchasing or renewing the license.

And just wonder that, since it was the error causing by the engine, so is there any free patch that you supply to the customer?

Thank you.

Unfortunately no. When you purchase the product, you will receive free upgrade for one year. If you run into some issues within one year, we will look into it and resolve it (if it can be resolved) and create a new build with the fix. You will get that build for free since it's within one year free upgrade period.

But after one year you will need to upgrade in order to use newer build, regardless whether it's a bug or not. We have this policy because for software the line between bug and features can be very blurred something (for example, in your case it can either be phased as "does not support Windows 10", which would categorize it as a missing feature, or phased as "does not work properly on Windows 10", which would sound more like a bug). So if we were to provide free upgrade due to "bugs" without time limitation, then everyone would be able to find something missing from a version years ago and claim it as a bug thus receiving the newer version for free. Obviously this would not be doable for us. Hope you understand.

Thanks!
